Join curator, writer and Founding Editor of 1000 Words Magazine, Tim Clark for a walk-through tour of Masculinities: Liberation through Photography.
The talk will offer an arc of the exhibition’s key themes, such as fatherhood and family, the female gaze, hyper-masculine codes, patriarchy, the black body and queer identities.
Since 2008 Clark has been editor-in-chief at 1000 Words. He was previously associate curator at Media Space, Science Museum, London, where he worked on exhibitions including Julia Margaret Cameron: Influence and Intimacy (2015) and Gathered Leaves: Photographs by Alec Soth (2015–16). Clark was artistic director of Photo Oxford 2017, together with Greg Hobson. In 2019 he co-curated the headline exhibition Mutable: Multiple with Louise Fedotov-Clements for the FORMAT International Photography Festival, Derby, and guest-curated Who’s looking at the family, now? for Photo50, London Art Fair. He is a lecturer at The Institute of Photography | Falmouth University.
