The Warhol Look
Glamour Style Fashion
This exhibition, for the first time, underlined the seriousness of Warhol’s approach to the ‘material culture’ of costume, magazines, photography and video.
As an artist and cultural phenomenon, Andy Warhol affected the taste generations nationally and internationally.
Questioning the prevalent idea that Warhol transcended the world of commercial illustration for that of fine art, this exhibition examined a range of his work to reveal his fascination with fashion, style and glamour. Couching this period as an integral part of his life and work, and a complex and productive response to the relationship between art, popular culture and daily life.
