Helmut Newton

This exhibition was a unique chance to gain insight into one of the most controversial and challenging image-makers to have influenced our perception of beauty, fame and glamour.

Through his uncompromising black and white photographs Newton allows us a tantalising glimpse into the world of extreme sophistication and flaunted wealth. As dramatic and atmospheric as any film still, Newton’s fashion photographs have an undeniable elegance. The glamour of his nudes equals that of any fashion shoot, while the extreme close-up of his portraits reveal the rich and famous to be human after all.
