Members are invited to find out more about this new exhibition before it opens to the public with an introduction from curator Alona Pardo. 

Masculinities: Liberation through Photography is a major group exhibition that explores how masculinity is experienced, performed, coded and socially constructed as expressed and documented through photography and film from the 1960s to the present day.

Examining depictions of masculinity from behind the lens, the Barbican brings together over 300 works by by over 50 pioneering international artists, photographers and filmmakers including Laurie Anderson, Sunil Gupta, Rotimi Fani-Kayode, Isaac Julien and Catherine Opie.

In this exclusive Members' talk, curator Alona Pardo will introduce the art works and themes of the exhibition, before it opens on 20 February and will be followed by a short Q&A.

This event is open to Barbican Members and Membership Plus only.

Members are welcome to bring a guest, they will need their own ticket.
