Dreaming The City

Artwork for Boiler Room x TRC

A conceptual night telling the story of a music hub and scene in east London, as told by some of UK jazz's central figures and rapidly rising stars.

Over 30 musicians from the thriving jazz scene including Cassie Kinoshi and her Seed Ensemble, drummer-producer Kwake Bass, Jazz Warrior Orphy Robinson, Tom Skinner's Wildflower, folk-crossover artists Rozi PlainAlabaster DePlume and Joshua Idehen team up to trace the contemporary lineage of jazz music between London, west Africa, the Caribbean and continental Europe.

Total Refreshment Centre is part and parcel of east London’s recent music history. The building's musical journey started as a Caribbean social club and studio and evolved into the musical hub that it is today, playing an integral role in the upsurge of the new and exciting London jazz scene. To mark nearly 30 years of influential music in the building, TRC has teamed up with Boiler Room – the revered global music broadcasting platform – who will broadcast the gig live.

This performance will begin promptly at the advertised start time and running time will be confirmed closer to the event.
