Barbican Young Poets X Alice Neel

Six Barbican Young Poets will be performing poetry readings in the Gallery, animating the exhibition’s historical context with references to contemporary life.

Bilingual Exhibition Tours

Take part in our Spanish/English tours of the exhibition, led by Daniela Galan (Funding Director of Amalgama Art), to explore the Latin American stories and figures that intersected the career of Alice Neel. Amalgam Art is a cultural programme and digital platform devoted to exhibiting, promoting and publishing the work of artists from Latin America, Spain, and Portugal.
Life Drawing in the Conservatory
7:00pm - 9:15pm
Join artists Phoebe Boswell and buitumelo to explore life drawing in the Conservatory. Alice Neel believed deeply in the reciprocal relationship between artist and sitter, and as long-time collaborators, buitumelo has featured in a lot of Boswell’s artworks. Whether you want to draw for 2 minutes or 20 minutes, drop by and be guided by Phoebe Boswell in the art of figurative drawing.
Drag Bingo with Senorita Rita

Join Señorita Rita in this fun Alice Neel-inspired Bingo; if you win, we get you a drink!
Nadī – DJ Set
8:30pm - 9:15pm
Nadī is a DJ, Broadcaster and Freelance Creative Producer. Her sound is rooted in club music genres from dub, dancehall, r&b and everything with a bouncy bass line. Nadī is part of the core team behind Daytimers.
