Creative Neighbourhoods is our work with our neighbours, ensuring the Barbican plays an active role in helping the diverse ecologies of culture and creativity around us to thrive.

We work with neighbours on our doorstep here in the City of London, and other surrounding boroughs, nearer and further afield in London. 

Our work in these areas helps local communities decide what kind of cultural offer is programmed and supported through our network building and local participatory grant making schemes.

The Imagine Fund

The Imagine Fund is a community grant-making & support scheme in which decisions about funding are made by the community themselves. The fund exists to support exciting new ideas and projects help our local community to thrive.

Community Impact Collective (CIC)

CIC is a collective of leaders working with communities in the City of London. The collective is dedicated to strengthening and advocating for values-led community work in the local area and are supported to develop their practice over an eight-week peer learning course.

Leytonstone Loves Film Community Fund 

Leytonstone Loves Film Community Fund is a community grant-making scheme that supported projects that celebrate the magic of the movies and how they help us connect. In 2023, the Leytonstone Loves Film Community Fund supported nine local projects who are using the power of film to bring their community together.

The Leytonstone Loves Film Network is a growing collective of people who are passionate about making, screening & sharing film in East London. They first came together as part of Leytonstone Loves Film Festival, which was commissioned in 2019 as part Waltham Forest London Borough of Culture.
